where we started
Our story began in 1976, when Felix Lopes Sr. opened a small sheet metal shop in his garage with a simple goal: deliver quality work and build lasting relationships. As demand for his craftsmanship grew, the business quickly expanded beyond the garage and moved to what is now known as the Coniston Industrial Park, a former INCO mine site.
When Felix Sr. purchased the property, he transformed the site into the home of Lopes Mechanical Limited, laying the foundation for what would become a multi-discipline industrial contractor.
Built on Felix Sr.’s values of integrity, precision, and taking care of people, we steadily grew our capabilities and reputation across Northern Ontario.

Today Lopes Limited is a trusted partner serving Northern Ontario’s mining, energy, and industrial sectors. Located on a 400-acre industrial park in Coniston, Ontario, we offer fabrication and construction services. With a team of skilled tradespeople, engineers, and project managers we are ready to tackle any project - no matter how complex.
