Exceeding Expectations:

Our customer had a large vaporizer that was problematic and was down regularly for repairs. Lopes was called in to provide input on the options for removing the entire vaporizer and installing an OEM replacement that had a lead-time of 39 weeks or fabricating new internals for the existing units. Lopes was provided drawings to budget the fabrication. Upon close examinations of the drawings and an understanding that the existing internals were prone to corrosion, Lopes proposed that we fabricate new internals but upgrade to stainless steel to eliminate the corrosion problem. After careful consideration by the client, it was decided to proceed with our proposal.

Professional Advice With Proven Results

While the new internals were being fabricated, our crews opened the vessel and performed the necessary removals. The vessel was fabricated from raw materials at our shop and transported to site to be inserted into the existing shell. All welds were inspected by NDE during assembly. The entire project was completed in 4 weeks and the cost was significantly less than the OEM replacement, which had a 39-week lead-time. The vaporizer has been running without incident.
